Nothing new really this has been going on for years and I think its become the accepted way of paying a fine [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I would have been more surprised if money didn't change hands this is quite normal here and I have to confess I have taken the easy way out more than once, believe me its a lot better than going to court here and a lot cheaper too.

I assume that the Traffic police do not speak English in which case how do the Non-Bulgarian speaking people understand what is being asked for, also how much is the going rate?

You should NEVER pay a bribe, if you break the law then take the legal punishment, dont encourage the already corrupt police.
