2.75 nb today after Greece defaulted on their EU payment.  What will the rate be after Sunday if they vote to effectively leave the Euro?

do you not mean 2.65 !

The currency rate of the Leva to the pound has been over 2.70 for some time, it is set at 1.95 to the Euro.

Of course don't expect to get anywhere near these rates in a UK airport or indeed a British bank.

Yes, the market was expecting the BoE to start raising UK interest rates until it became clear in a speech by Mr. Osborne that the recovery was in danger of struggling.
These things are influenced far more by speculation, rumour and sentiment than present fact.
It will follow the usual cycle as the traders and speculators listen to various whispers, which they imagine will make them lots of money before the facts come out.
That's how capitalism seems to work.

It's a waiting game...I keep a casual eye on it, but don't let it bother me until I'm thinking about transferring a significant sum.
It can go up and down like the proverbial!
